Staff Profiles

Allen Meek, Medical Director, Radiation Oncology
Dr. Allen Meek comes to Knoxville from Long Island, New York where he was the Founding Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stony Brook University Medical School and a Professor for over 28 years. Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD completing medical school, residencies in Internal Medicine and Radiation Oncology and a fellowship in Medical Oncology. A Navy veteran, Dr. Meek also served as board member and officer of several non-profit organizations on Long Island. While in New York, Dr. Meek received numerous awards, including Top Doctors in New York and Best Doctors in the USA, along with awards for Humanitarianism and Environmental Stewardship. Also, he was just recently recognized as a 2012 U.S. News and World Report “Top Doctor”. He has a passion for excellence in delivering patient care and for developing new procedures to improve that care. A native New Englander, he and his wife are thrilled about settling in Eastern Tennessee, building a home in Sevierville and their six children are looking forward very much to visiting. Dr. Meek is an active gardener, beekeeper (yes, he “robs” the bees) and enjoys playing tennis and hiking.




Rebecca Thomas, Nurse Manager
Rebecca Thomas has been practicing nursing for more than 10 years. She received her nursing degree from Lincoln Memorial University and graduated summa cum laude, receiving the Lagniappe Award and the Outstanding Student Nurse Award.  Rebecca is an oncology-certified nurse, a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, and holds the Certificate of Added Qualification in Radiation Oncology Nursing.  Her focus is bringing excellent and thorough care to her patients. She enjoys spending time with her family, culinary arts, running and the great outdoors in her spare time.






Sheri Stewardson, Radiation Therapist
Sheri Stewardson has been a radiation therapist for 20 years, and caring for patients has always been most important to her. She holds a bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy from The Medical University of South Carolina, where she received the outstanding student award in her class. Sheri is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and is certified through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Sheri and her husband have two children, and she enjoys traveling, reading and singing in her church choir.






Kerry Clowers, Radiation Therapist
Kerry Clowers has been a radiation therapist for eight years. She received her radiation therapy and bachelor’s degrees at the State University of New York in Syracuse. She was recognized with the Outstanding Clinical Achievement Award. Kerry excels in assisting patients through her positive attitude and outlook on life. She is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and is certified through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Kerry and her husband enjoy the outdoors, gardening, hiking, sports, and good food.






Kathleen Steele, Patient Services Coordinator
Kathleen Steele has more than seven years experience in serving cancer patients. A former director for the American Cancer Society, she enjoys helping patients find information and resources to help them navigate through their cancer journey. Her professional experience also includes five years as a program director for a medical education company. Kathleen earned her bachelor’s degree from Hollins University where she graduated with honors. She is a dedicated wife and mother and enjoys music, reading, volunteering and spending time with family and friends.







Ben Robison, Medical Physicist
Ben Robison is an American Board of Radiology certified Medical Physicist, educated at Maryville College and the University of Tennessee Knoxville. As a medical physicist, his duties include treatment planning, dose calculations and quality assurance. His role is like being a pharmacist, “filling” the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription and ensuring patient safety. In his spare time, Ben enjoys being on the golf course or on Market Square enjoying the local cuisine and entertainment.








Scott Warwick, Vice President of Clinical Operations
Scott Warwick is a Knoxville native and a graduate of the University of Tennessee and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center School of Allied Health. He has more than 16 years of comprehensive cancer center management and development experience. Scott has a strong clinical background as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist which allows him to understand the many complexities of delivering quality cancer care. Scott and his wife have four children that keep them very active with homework and soccer. He currently serves as the President of the local American Cancer Society board and is significantly involved in medical missions in Haiti. When time permits he likes to travel, hike, and play tennis.
